Miniature Golf – Important Points to Remember

Saturday, February 6th, 2010

Miniature golf is a fun and easy sport that everyone can enjoy any time of the year. Miniature golf is also known as putt-putt and it is a fun variation of the game that you can play at parties and small events.  People of all age groups can play this game called miniature golf. Many people make their own variations of this game to make their game unique and more interesting. However you will need to be aware of the basic rules of the game before you can adapt it to your own setting:

The objective is to hole the ball using the least number of strokes possible. He who completes his hole closest to the par is declared the winner of the round, or he who completes in the least number of strokes, whichever is appropriate and applicable. Since this game is often played in the backyards and lawns across America, it is polite not to get so loud that you disturb the neighbors. Just as with regular golf, in miniature golf too, it is polite to let that person tee off first, who has scored the least on the previous round of play.

You could have two options before you start each round, and it’s up to you which one you go with. Every player can complete his hole before the next player takes the course, or maybe you could let everyone pay in turns so that all finish together. If you choose the latter option, the player who hits each stroke first should be he who is furthest from the hole. It is definitely not appropriate to brag and show off when you play this game.

Don’t swing your club around, for the safety of those around you. Remember, even when you play the shots, all that is required in this form of the game is putting, never a full swing. This form of the game demands eighteen holes to be putted. Here are a couple of more pointers for your convenience.Choose a club that is just the right length for you. It is uncomfortable if you need to lean too much to use it. Use a putter that allows your hands to hang free once you are in stance to putt. Position your feet so the golf ball is in the center of the stance when you are about to play.
